"Eco-contribution City, Kobe", contributing to people, to nature, to the Earth, and to the future.
- with the best mix of energy, and full of greenery, aim for a city that enjoys life -

Kobe City is lined by the Rokko mountains immediately to the north of the sea, and with about 70% of the population living in urban areas that spread from the foot of those mountains to the sea, it is a compact city.
Through the recovery from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we proceeded with social capital formation, and the "Kobe Medical Industry Development" integrates about 280 companies and organizations, "integrated areas of knowledge" where state-of-the-art research institutions gather high-speed computing "K-computer" in a nucleus, advancing the country development of new technology to open up the future.
In addition, the Port of Kobe, in preparation for its 150th anniversary, is specified along with Osaka Port as "Hanshin Port," the country's international container strategic port, and Kobe has logistics centers including an airport, rail and road networks.
Taking advantage of these Kobe strengths and features, in the 3 pillars of "best balance energy city," "green full city," and "city to enjoy life," we challenge with citizen-integrated efforts of 20 plans for 2020, for the realization of a low-carbon society, and a stable supply of, and reduced-cost of energy.
